1. Product Overview

Plunger Type Ladle Baker is dedicated intelligent ladle preheating equipment matched for long & short-process steel plants. It adopts innovative hydraulic plunger sinking sealing structure with full-oxygen / oxygen-enriched multi-fuel combustion system, applicable for drying new ladle refractory lining, preheating circulating cold ladles and heating overhauled ladles.
The hydraulic plunger lifting unit drives burners to sink fully into ladle cavity, and plunger cover tightly seals ladle mouth to trap high-temperature flue gas inside, thoroughly eliminating major defects of traditional top-mounted bakers including massive heat loss, huge temperature difference and excessive gas consumption.
It supports multiple fuels such as natural gas, blast furnace gas and converter gas, equipped with PLC segmented intelligent temperature control system for both online & offline baking modes. It can be matched with full series multi-frequency screens and scrap steel continuous preheating system, forming an integrated low-carbon steelmaking solution: mine raw material screening – scrap preheating – constant-temperature ladle baking.

2. Detailed Description

After accurate positioning of the ladle, the hydraulic plunger unit descends vertically to sink burners into the ladle, and the plunger cover compresses the ladle mouth to form a sealed high-temperature chamber and block flue gas leakage.

Fuel and high-purity oxygen are fully mixed and combusted in integrated anti-backfire burners. High-temperature flame reaches ladle bottom directly, and hot gas circulates along refractory lining from top to bottom without cold heating dead zones.

The PLC intelligent system stores 3 standard baking curves: low-temperature stage for slow moisture removal, medium-temperature stage for uniform gradient heating, high-temperature stage for constant holding. It automatically adjusts fuel-oxygen ratio to stabilize internal temperature at 800–1100℃.

After baking finished, the plunger unit lifts up completely, and preheated ladles can be directly transported to smelting stations. All flue gas is collected and purified to reduce thermal NOx generation fundamentally for compliant emission.

    Three-stage heating curve of low-temperature drying, medium-temperature curing and high-temperature sintering avoids refractory cracking caused by rapid heating. Precise temperature control ±5℃ ensures uniform heating, extends refractory service life by over 20%.
  • Fully enclosed low-emission structure, low flue gas and dust, adapt to ultra-low emission plant:Fully enclosed structure eliminates open dust emission and cold air infiltration, flue gas volume reduced by over 55%.
