Trommel Screen
-
Efficient Material Stratification: Utilizes continuous tumbling rotation to separate multi-size bulk solids accurately with minimal particle pinning.
-
Clog-Resistant Rotary Action: Inherently minimizes mesh blinding when processing damp, sticky, or organic materials.
-
Modular Mesh Configuration: Easily replaceable bolt-on screen segments allow for rapid size configuration changes onsite.
-
Enclosed Dust Control Layout: Optional fully enclosed steel shell configuration suppresses atmospheric dust and dampens processing noise.
1. Product Overview
The Industrial Rotary Trommel Screen (also known as a drum screen or rolling screener) is a premier, high-capacity classification solution engineered for the sizing of large-scale bulk materials, ores, municipal waste, and organic substrates. Extensively utilized in mining, aggregate production, waste recycling, compost processing, and power plants, this equipment handles diverse feed materials. By lifting and dropping material through a rotating perforated drum, it provides excellent separation efficiency, especially for sticky or oversized bulk solids that traditionally cause high-frequency vibrating screens to clog.
2. Detailed Description
This trommel screen features a robust cylindrical drum mounted at a slight downward angle on a heavy-duty structural steel support frame. Driven by an integrated motor-gearbox combined with either a central shaft, side-friction rollers, or a robust chain drive assembly, the drum rotates at a controlled, low velocity. As raw material enters from the high-end inlet, the rolling motion continuously fluidizes the material bed. Smaller particles pass cleanly through the geometric screen apertures into a collection hopper beneath, while oversized rocks, wood fragments, or refuse travel along the length of the cylinder to be discharged from the lower end. To handle moist or clay-rich materials, the system can be integrated with external mechanical cleaning brushes to automatically clear plugged screen apertures.
3. Why Choose Us
-
Low Maintenance & High Reliability: Simple mechanical architecture lacks high-frequency complex shaking parts, reducing wear-and-tear and cutting annual operational maintenance costs.
-
Flexible Sizing Customization: Supports multi-stage drum screening layouts (concentric or inline stacked mesh tiers) to grade up to 3 to 4 distinct fractions in a single operational run.
-
Gentle Material Agility: Low centrifugal speeds ensure sensitive materials (like coal cubes or compost fibers) suffer near-zero breakage or shattering during sorting.
